Diplomats from Russia, China and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Ministerial meeting of the countries participating in the East Asia summit and the 25th session of the ASEAN Regional forum for security (ARF), the last Saturday in Singapore, discussed the situation on the Korean Peninsula and in the South China sea. This is stated in the message of the foreign Ministry.
“In the course of this meeting they exchanged opinions on key international and regional problems, including the situation on the Korean Peninsula and in the South China sea”, – stated in the document.
In addition, the participants in the framework of the implementation of the Manila action plan for 2018-2022 years, discussed issues of practical cooperation in energy, Finance, education, health, the fields of emergency response and ensure inter-connectivity, food security, cooperation of the sea.
It is also noted that at the ARF session were discussed issues of cooperation in the field of security and deepening of confidence-building measures in the Asia-Pacific region.
“Russia, together with Indonesia’s chairmanship is fixed in the mechanism of Intersessional meetings on counter-terrorism and transnational crime in 2018-2019, a positive assessment of the first results of the work launched in 2017, the mechanism of intersessional meetings on the safe use of information and communication technologies”, – have informed in dipvedomstva.
From the Russian side the event was attended by Deputy foreign Minister Igor Morgulov. On the sidelines of meetings he held meetings with Director General (Deputy head) of the MFA of Indonesia Jose Tavares, Deputy head of the foreign Ministry in Laos Thongpan Sanphet, the permanent Secretary of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Singapore Chee Wee kiong and the assistant foreign Minister of China Chen Saouna.
