MOSCOW, 8 Aug. /Basereporter.com/. The Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Leonid Slutsky considers hypocritical appeals to recognize Russia as a sponsor of terrorism. He commented on Wednesday the media publications about the content of the new bill of U.S. senators to toughen anti-Russian sanctions.

Previously, the newspaper Kommersant reported that a bill senators on new sanctions against Russia requires, in particular, to solve the issue of the recognition of Russia as “state sponsor of terrorism.” “An act to protect American security from the aggression of the Kremlin in 2018” was introduced in the Senate on 2 August.

The MP said that the US as a result of its policy in the middle East “in fact contributed to the emergence of “al-Qaeda”, ISIS (“Islamic state”) and “al-Nusra Dzhebhat” (all three organizations banned in Russia)”. According to Slutsky, this approach represents “a totally hypocritical and dead-end logic, perevalivanie “with a sick head on healthy”.

“All of this is absolutely destructive. We look forward to the enlightenment in Europe. The European Union, which also appeal to the sponsors of the bill, should not, and in case of refusal from renewal of sanctions against Iran, to support tougher sanctions against Russia. For this purpose there are no bases”, – concluded the Deputy.
