MOSCOW, August 9. /Basereporter.com/. The Chairman of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Leonid Slutsky called the manifestation of Russophobic hysteria of the US intention to impose sanctions against Russia because of the case Skrobala.
“The US is prepared to use any pretext to curb Russia’s aggressive promotion of their own interests. The intention to impose sanctions in the case Skrobala without any hitherto presented evidence is another confirmation of the rabid Russophobic hysteria” – he said to journalists on Thursday. Slutsky added that the new “draconian measures” against Russia “will transform the entire system of international law in the theater of the absurd and turn to ashes concepts such as “evidence base” and “presumption of innocence”.
Moreover, according to the head of the Committee, “this line indirectly confirms the assumption of some experts that Washington could be the mastermind behind London unleashed anti-Russian provocations because of what happened in Salisbury”. “Unfortunately, in the United States is less common and well-intentioned politicians. We will continue to work with those who have not yet succumbed to the collective madness, and attempt to restore dialogue,” – said the Deputy.
Speaking about the possible reaction of Russia, Slutsky expressed confidence that it would be given an adequate response. “From its part the Russian legislators formed the whole complex of legal measures taking during the spring session the law of contracti”, – said the head of the Committee.
Earlier, the state Department reported that the U.S. government impose new sanctions against Russia because of the case Skrobala, which shall enter into force on 22 August. The Russian Embassy in the United States in turn declared that no evidence of Russian involvement in the poisoning Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia were not provided.
