“Discuss, of course, the situation in the middle East, particularly with respect to Syria,” he said.
“It is important to increase the humanitarian component of the Syrian conflict, referring, in particular, the provision of humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people, and to help those areas which can return the refugees abroad.”
Putin cited data showing that in Jordan there are about one million refugees in Lebanon – one million, Turkey – three million. “This is potentially a huge burden on Europe,” warned the President of the Russian Federation.
“So it’s best to do everything to ensure that these people can return home,” he said.
According to Putin, it is necessary to help restore water, sanitation and medical care.
He expressed confidence that in the interest of all, including Europe.
