WASHINGTON, August 31. /Basereporter.com/. The Russian Embassy in the United States called on the us authorities to cease to stand up for rampaging in the sea of Azov charges and to begin a substantive dialogue on the issue of Russian citizens in American prisons. This is stated in the statement of the diplomatic mission.
“The state Department in the person of the official representative Heather Nauert attended legitimate stops for inspections of vessels in the sea of Azov. It is noteworthy that out of “hundreds” of ships not named none”, – said in a press release of the Embassy. “Here ignore the facts of Ukrainian piracy. For example, the seizure of the trawler “Nord” Ukrainian border guards on 25 March in the sea of Azov with the team, consisting of the Crimean fishermen who do not recognize themselves as Ukrainian citizens,” the Embassy stated.
“The state Department is silent about the fact that on 10 August, Ukrainian law-enforcers blocked in the port of Kherson the Russian tanker “Mekhanik Pogodin”. On Board are 12 crew members. They have already visited the representatives of the OSCE”, – stated in the message.
“The us authorities generate new empty accusations against Russia. To divert attention from flagrant human rights violations – both from the side of its satellites, and at home. It is primarily a question of abductions of Russian citizens abroad for the subsequent processes on them in the United States, accompanied by psychological pressure and pre-defined convictions – said the Russian diplomatic mission. – Another victim of justice-American was a student of Maria Butina, arrested on trumped up charges and a prisoner in jail.”
Earlier the head a press-services of the Department of state Heather Nauert stated that the inspections of Ukrainian courts of the Russian warships in the sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait interfere with international navigation. In her statement, said that the United States condemns the harassment of Russian international navigation in the Azov sea and the Kerch Strait. “Russia has detained hundreds of commercial vessels in April, and in recent weeks has stopped at least 16 merchant ships, which were sent to Ukrainian ports,” claimed the foreign service of the United States. From the point of view of Washington, “Russia’s actions in obstructing navigation are further examples of the ongoing campaign to undermine and destabilize Ukraine, and disregard for international norms.”
