Putin: Moscow is considering the idea of holding the summit Russia – Africa

JOHANNESBURG, July 27. /Basereporter.com/. Moscow is considering the idea of holding the summit Russia – Africa with the participation of heads of African States. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the BRICS leaders with the invited heads of state in the outreach format.

“I would like to inform you that we are working on the idea of the summit Russia – Africa with the participation of heads of African States,” he said.

The President noted that the summit “could precede the relevant meeting of prominent businessmen, experts, public figures”. “I mean, [the need] to discuss it with representatives of African countries,” he said.

Vladimir Putin also said that Russia intends to increase its assistance to African countries to develop their energy.

“I emphasise that Russia plans to increase its assistance to development of national energy African States”, – said the head of the Russian state.
