MOSCOW, July 30. /Basereporter.com/. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the Federal law allowing the tax authorities to require the auditors to provide information about the taxpayer. The document was published Monday on the official portal of legal information.
The law was passed by the Parliament on 17 July and approved by the Federation Council on 24 July 2018.
According to the document, employees of audit firms and individual auditors will be required to provide tax authorities with information about customers. For refusing to provide documents, a penalty of 10 thousand rubles.
The legislation requires auditors to disclose information only upon request of law enforcement agencies and the courts.
Documents and information the auditors will need to provide within 10 days from the date of receipt of the relevant request. In addition, auditors have the right to inform the taxpayer about the request of the competent authority of a foreign state only if the request does not contain a ban on such communication.
The law will come into force on January 1, 2019, its provisions will apply to documents obtained in the course of the audit in respect of tax periods beginning on or after 1 January 2019.
